Stained and Weatherproofed: The Fence

After we stained the deck, Mike put a coat of stain the driveway gate in the same dark brown shade we had leftover.  It's now officially protected for winter, blends nicely with the deck, and no longer clashes with the yellow house.  I think the dark color actually helps it disappear and blend into the backyard too (as opposed to the natural wood which screamed "look at me!").  It's a little uneven and could use a second coat, but that might not happen until spring unless we get a warm weekend day without rain.  At least for now it's protected. 

Sorry about the lousy photo.  The rising sun made it  impossible to get a good shot and I had to leave for work and it's dark these days long before I get home.
