Next Project: The Sun Room

We had the best intentions to be very productive over our holiday vacations.  Things just never go according to plan.  We've been incredibly busy - just not with the house.

Originally we thought we would at least get a good start on our next planned major project: the upstairs.  Except we never really got started.  And now that the new couch is coming, we're changing our focus to the sun room.

Right now we have a tall cube shelf blocking the back windows and this is going to be moved elsewhere to make room for the current living room couch. Unfortunately the big shelf won't fit up or down either staircase unless it's taken apart (which is why it ended up here),  and it's Ikea so we have some major doubts over it ever going back together again.  However it's finally time to bite the bullet and forge ahead in the name of the new couch... so we decided to empty, disassemble, and move the whole thing out and take the time to paint and fix up the room while its at its emptiest.

Here's our plan:
  • Empty, Disassemble and move the cube shelf out of the room
  • Move the light switch from the living room to the sun room
  • Upgrade the electrical outlets from the old fashioned unsafe 2-prong to modern 3-prong outlets.
  • Paint the walls Palladian blue
  • Get rid of the frilly old-lady curtains and hang up the white thermal roman shades
  • Replace the ceiling light
  • Fix the backwards knobs on the doors
