I'm Taking a Stroll Down Citrus Lane

Last month I jumped on the Citrus Lane Mommy bandwagon thanks to multiple friend recommendations, a discount coupon and long running list of super cool baby products that I wanted for myself and Oliver. I was resistant when I first heard about it, thinking it was frivolous and assumed that most of it was junk. But then I saw what kind of products my friends and family were receiving and realized that I had the same brands and things on my wish lists. Chewbeads, green toys, skip hop lunch boxes, oversized oil cloth bibs... the list goes on. Plus, a box of fun surprises will be something to look forward to each month. And honestly, I need that. It’s part of my resolution for this year to find more happy things. 2012 was rough.

Here’s how it works. You subscribe to their service and they send you a box of surprises each month with hot products and coveted brands. You can’t choose what they send, though they keep your baby’s gender and age in mind. And the boxes always retail for more than the subscription price, so you get your money’s worth. The subscription service is as low as $21 a month without a discount. I went with the 6 month plan plus a $10 off coupon to get the best price (about $19). If you are interested, I have a link at the bottom of this post so you can get $10 off your subscription too!

So my first box came last week and I was really excited. This box was themed, “Looking forward to spring.” It started with a board book called Spring Is Here by Taro Gomi. The book is adorable and Oliver loves the bright pictures. The best thing in the box was a baby rain stick toy that makes beautiful rain noises. Oliver is crazy about it, it’s the perfect size for him to hold and he loves the sounds. He can’t stop playing with it. I never would have bought him something like this, it’s a wonderful discovery and honestly makes the entire box worth it right there.

There’s always something for mom, and this time it was a pangea organics lip balm. I’m a HUGE fan of this brand and the herbal lip balm smells like a field of spring flowers. They even included a pangea organics coupon code which I’m going to use to restock my supply of their face mask (seriously it’s my favorite face mask of all time, it’s an all-in-one mask that leaves my skin in the best shape... though it looks like you smeared goose poop all over your face when you wear it).

There was a package of washcloths that are much softer than anything Oliver has now, and you can never have too many of those. They also included a tube of Branam all natural baby toothpaste, which I find very helpful. Oliver’s first teeth are coming in and this saves me a lot of time researching and choosing. Someone who already has a supply of baby toothpaste might not find it nearly as cool, but I think it’s great!

So that’s my box! Half the fun was the surprise of what was going to be inside. It was a lovely cold gray winter pick-me-up and I’m really looking forward to next month’s box.

If you like what you see and want try it out, you too can get a $10 coupon to a subscription through my post by clicking on this referral link:

Has anyone else tried any other subscription service that they love?

**I am not in any way affiliated with Citrus Lane. I paid for my subscription and they did not ask for my endorsement. I'm just sharing the box because I found it to be fun!

    1. I recall their site saying that they do boxes for children up to age 5 now? But I would definitely check their site before signing up to be sure. It's really fun though, I'm sure your preschooler would enjoy whatever they send!

    1. Tough call! I think I like both the February and March boxes for different reasons. The February box rain stick and the March box art cards were our favorite things. Olive loves playing with both, they are unique and they're something I'd never find/buy on my own. So far I'm really enjoying the monthly surprises.
