Feeling Beachy

A few weeks ago, with summer in full swing, I was feeling beachy... without the possibility of going to the beach. We just had too many things going on. So instead I browsed our summer vacation album from last year. I mixed a couple summery drinks. And I decorated our house for summer.

I have several jars of seashells from different vacations through the years, I put them out on high shelves far out of Oliver’s destructive reach. I have less space than ever in the "safety" zone, but I was able to squeeze them in amongst the books.

The shells from Florida are the most colorful - so many pinks and purples and golds.

The hurricane of mother of pearl shells from last year’s trip to Cape Cod still look lovely in the dining room.

I had the rest of my Cape Cod shells from last year in a bucket. I put them around the candles in the living room and I think it looks really nice.
