Spring/Summer To-Do List: I Painted the Playhouse

Time is flying by. We've slowly been checking off items on our to-do list. I've been struggling with the giant mountain of mulch in our driveway - there's just so much to mulch and so many garden beds to do and our schedule/weather isn't always mulching-friendly.

Over the weekend we painted the playhouse. Last fall I used the power washer to get all the loose paint off of it and then it sat in its ugly glory all winter (because I wasn't going to paint it just to have it ruined with ice and snow). Here's what it looked like before (taken in late April):

It got a good scrub with soap and water to get the dirt off and then I sprayed it with Rustoleum's seaside (teal) and aqua.

This is probably the last year for the play house. Matt is 5 now and while he occasionally plays in it or uses it as a base for "war" games... mostly they climb on the roof and jump off of it. By next year he will have fully outgrown it and it will be time to find it a new home (it's still really sturdy, they don't make them like this anymore with plastic thick enough for adults to climb on). I'm glad to give it one final summer looking nice.
