The Guestroom is Empty

Somehow we managed to cram even more stuff into super-messy office - everything from the guest room including our Ikea sleeper sofa!  The room is officially too cramped to walk in.  I have no idea how we're going to fit all of this in the guest room when we redo the office next...

Anyways, we've finally entered phase 2 of our guest room-office project - redoing the guest room!  Now that it's empty, here's the details of what we have planned:

  1. Add a small ceiling fan (cut a hole, add the boxes and wiring, wire it to the light switch, install the fan)
  2. Add another wall outlet (this room didn't have any when we moved in and the electrician gave us 1 when he added circuits to the house)
  3. Patch the cracks, popped nails, and holes from electrical work in the walls and ceiling
  4. Remove and replace the mismatched piece of base molding (you can see it in the photo below - it's like half the height of all the rest of the molding in the house!)
  5. Remove original window treatments and hardware, patch holes (the granny curtains and ancient ripped roller shade)
  6. Paint the room and ceiling
  7. Install new window treatments - blinds and curtains
  8. Remove the pink carpet and pray that the floors underneath are as decent as the corners we pulled up (and don't look like the hallway or our master bedroom)

We'd also like to add crown molding to this room and every other room upstairs, but we're saving that for later.  For now our goals are to make this room pleasant and livable, then get moving on the office (I am desperate for a studio/office space!).
