April Showers Brought May Flowers

Spring is in full bloom in our backyard.  The former owner loved flowers and the entire backyard is blanketed in blooms.  Unfortunately some of those blooms are dandelions, which I've officially spent 5 hours digging up in the front yard and the front half of the back.  But the rest of the flowers are beautiful - grape hyacinth, bleeding hearts, blankets of purple and white violets, three types of little white flowers and two types of purple ones I can't name.... there's color everywhere.  Some of them are probably weeds (just like the dandelions), but they are so pretty I don't care.  My Dad took most of these photos over the weekend and I just had to share them on this beautiful spring day.

  1. Flowers in the yard are nice but it makes it tough to mow... not because it is hard to do but because you don't want to ruin the landscape.

  2. That's so true! We mowed the front lawn so that the neighbors won't hate us... but mowing down all the pretty flowers in the back is a much dreaded endeavor!
