New Carpet: Office & Guest Room

The new carpet has been installed!  It matches the berber carpet in the hall, stairwell and master bedroom so the entire upstairs now has a nice flow to it.  As I mentioned before, the office wood floors were unlivable once we pulled the rug up, they needed a full and very expensive refinishing - so we chose the less messy, less expensive solution: carpet.  And since we were doing one room, we might as well do both the office and guest room because the guest room floors weren’t great either.  Someday I’d love to refinish all the wood floors upstairs, but for now this works and fits our budget.  Plus there is something cozy about carpet in bedrooms.

It was quite an adventure to have both the office and guest room empty at the same time.  The guest room was already filled to the brim with all of the furniture and boxes for the past several months.  We didn’t want to pay for furniture moving, so we did it all ourselves.   We literally crammed everything into our tiny bedroom - stuffing furniture everywhere (on top of the bed, into my closet, around the room) until you couldn’t even walk into the room.

Both the office and guest room look much more finished now with the seen-better-days wood floors covered up.   Georgia loves the new carpets most of all.
