The Nursery Dresser

Our lovely friends who brought us the crib also gave us a dresser for the nursery. Isn’t that so nice? It’s the perfect size for the room and can double as a changing table by securing the changing pad to the top.

We want it to be a similar dark espresso stain like the crib, in such a small space it’s crucial that the furniture pieces blend together. Not that I would want a perfectly matching set (too matchy-matchy for our eclectic house), but having too many finishes in the tiny nursery would make it feel cluttered and even more cramped.

We’re lucky enough to have some early mild spring temperatures this week, so we’re getting started with the refinishing process. That extra hour of light in the evenings will most certainly come in handy. Mike is taking this outside to start sanding it down this week - it's a lot of work but will be totally worth it. (Don’t worry, I know the rules, I won’t be anywhere near the refinishing process of any furniture.)
