Gallery Wall is Up

The Art Prints I ordered from Le Canot Rouge, DIMDI and The Wheatfield are finally framed and up on the wall over the crib. Don’t they look so great up on the wall?! All of the prints from the different shops far exceeded my expectations.

The cards from Le Canot Rouge are lovely - I want to order more to use as real cards for special occasions, they are so cute. The story for each animal is on the back of the card - I love it! The detail is lovely and I find each image even more charming in person. The prints from DIMDI are beautiful, they look like original watercolors printed on thick watercolor paper. Each is signed by the artist and she sweetly included an extra print of a baby hedgehog as a gift for my little one! Isn’t that sweet? The word prints from The Wheatfield are also fabulous - they too look like original watercolors on thick paper. I ended up even framing her business postcard because it’s so beautiful in a 4x6 frame. I’m thrilled with all of the artwork and the care and customer service from all three shops. And the best part is that it all looks so nice all together!

So here’s how I created a gallery wall with prints and frames in a variety of sizes. Most importantly I wanted to make sure that the arrangement looked nice before I started putting holes in the wall. To plan it out, I took a big piece of brown craft paper, centered it on the nursery wall and marked the size of the crib. I then laid it on the ground in the office to play around with frame arrangements.

It took a few tries, but I finally figured out an arrangement I was happy with. I marked the frame positions on the craft paper with a marker, then marked the location of each frame’s hanger so I would know where the nails would go.

I hung it up on the wall with tape, using the paper as a hanging guide for the nails.

Once all the nails were up, I carefully removed the craft paper and hung up the prints, using the notes on the paper as a guide to remember what print went where.

I’m really happy with how this came together. It’s a fun and relatively inexpensive way to bring a wide variety of woodland animals into the room. I’m so glad I was able to find such beautiful nursery artwork within a tight budget.
