Painted Front Door

I finally painted our front door! Timing the project was tricky because I needed a couple of days where we were home, had time to paint the door, and were warm enough to leave the house open all day long to let the door dry properly. With such a late spring this year, it was a tall order!

I used Benjamin Moore Aura exterior paint in Gray #2121-10. I did not need any primer, but it did take two coats. I put them on over two separate days because to allow for maximum curing time between coats. Front doors take a beating (at least in our house!).

I absolutely LOVE the color. It’s amazing what a dramatic difference a little paint can make. I need to take a photo of our house from the street with the gray but 1) I need to clean the screen door first, 2) We need to mow the lawn again, 3) I want to let the spring landscaping grow in a bit more so it looks pretty, not sparse, 4) I want to add the door knocker.
