Attic Insulation: In Progress

Getting sick upon the arrival of an arctic cold front after removing all of the attic insulation was a bit of a misfortune, at least to our energy bills. It was COLD upstairs for days. Once Mike had the electrical wires tacked down, he could finally start unrolling the insulation.

It was another task that went slower than expected. Here it is about half done:

Mike is now a master of balancing on the joists, but the installation is going slowly because he has to cut out holes in the insulation for every electrical box - lights and junction. And at the edges he has to make sure it fits perfectly - you don’t want to block the soffits, but any additional space left uninsulated is inefficient.
