The plan with our stairwell gallery wall was always to add to it over time. I grabbed a few more frames from Target when they were on sale. I wanted to balance the abundance of baby photos with some sort of artwork. I thought it would be nice to frame one of my favorite quotes.
But then I couldn’t decide what my favorite quote was. I have two:
“Comparison is the Thief of Joy” - Theodore Roosevelt
“Love is Life. All everything that I understand, I understand only because I love.” - Tolstoy
So I decided to mock them both up. I started with a simple chalkboard-style design that would stand out in a sea of photographs.
Then I thought I would try them over a pretty photograph from Unsplash (free to use photography) just for fun.
And now I’m having trouble deciding which set to hang. Chalkboard or skies?
I might have to try them out in the gallery wall to decide…
Also just for fun, as a freebie, I'm sharing the files. If you like what you see and want a print for yourself, click the (unframed) image above to open the full file, right click and save the image to your computer. They are high res and 8x10, so you can print your own at home.
