Attic Progress

Once the furring strips were laid down over the joists as spacers to make room for the electrical wires, Mike covered the gaps with plates. This will keep the wires safe and add to the strength of the base.

He also finally had a chance to lay down two rows of boards along the edges to see how everything would fit and what had to be cut down.

10 boards had to have 11 inches trimmed off the end. He took these outside for cutting.

When everything is totally laid out, a few more boards will have to be brought down from the attic as well to cut out holes for the junction boxes. These holes will be covered but it will leave the junction boxes accessible through the floor, which is code.
